Chinese tech Xiaomi has recently revealed a pair of smart glasses called ‘Mijia.’ The smart glasses are equipped with two cameras- a 50MP primary camera and an 8MP periscope camera. The 8MP periscope camera is capable of up to 15 x zoom & 100 minutes of continuous recording.
As per Sparrow News, Mijia homes a single Micro OLED from Sony. This boasts up to 3,000 nit peak brightness and 3,281 PPI. The display/ camera upper could be clipped to a pair of glasses frames or could also be worn by itself. Smart glasses are described as ‘never seen before’ wearable technology.
The smart glasses are equipped with a 1020mAh battery along with magnetic 10W charging. It takes less than 30 minutes for the glasses to go from 0% battery to 80% battery. The glasses weigh only 100 grams and are driven by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8-crore chipset.
Talking about the storage capacity, the glasses consist of 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage.
Additionally, the glasses come with TUV Rheinland certification to protect the eyes. There is also an LED shooting indicator at the front of the camera body. This indicator lights up when the wearer records a video or takes a picture.
As per the Chinese company Xiaomi, Mijia comes equipped with numerous intelligent Augmented Reality (AR) functions which include “time backtracking.” With this, people can save videos within 10 seconds before they press the shutter and shoot.
Interestingly, a one-click sharing option is also available on the glasses, using which wearers can import the media from the Mijia glasses to their smartphone.
The company is going to launch a crowdfunding campaign for smart glasses on August 3. Chinese customers would be able to pre-order these glasses for the discounted price of 2,499 yuan or about $ 370. However, the product is expected to be priced at 2,699 yuan, or around $400 after the launch.
